What Codata IO runs for you
DatabaseDecks, cards and every quiz attempt, so progress builds over the whole term.
Sign-in with rolesTeachers manage decks; students study and see only their own scores.
AI in your appTurn a page of notes into a new deck, with no separate AI account. Start free; heavier AI use needs Builder.

Step 01
Connect your agent
Sign up free at codata.io and copy your MCP address from onboarding. Add it once to Claude, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, ChatGPT, Lovable or Replit, then log in to Codata IO when prompted:
https://mcp.codata.io/mcp
Step 02
Paste the starter prompt
Starter prompt · what to build
Build a flashcard and quiz app for [subject / class, e.g. Year 10 biology]. Use the codata MCP server for the backend. Create tables for decks (title, topic), cards (deck, question, answer) and quiz attempts (student, deck, score, date).Use Codata IO sign-in with two roles: teacher and student. Features: create decks and cards; study mode that flips cards; quiz mode with multiple choice and a score at the end; a progress page showing each student's scores over time. Seed one sample deck with 10 cards so I can try it right away.
Design layer · keep it in the same prompt
DESIGN (follow exactly)
Style: friendly and focused, like a modern study app; large readable text (18px+).
Study mode: one big card in the center that flips on tap, a progress bar on top ("Card 3 of 10"), and "Again" / "Got it" buttons under it.
Quiz: one question per screen, 4 large answer buttons; after answering, show right and wrong with a check or cross icon, not color alone. End with a score screen showing a big percentage.
Navigation: students see Study, Quiz and My progress; teachers also see Decks and Class.
Teacher views: decks as cards with a card count; a class table with each student's latest score and a small trend line.
Empty state for a new deck: "Add your first card" with an inline form.
Colors: off-white background, white cards with soft 1px borders, near-black text, and ONE accent color: [your brand color, e.g. #2F5BFF] for buttons and highlights only.
Type: one clean sans-serif (e.g. Geist or Plus Jakarta Sans), 16px body text, generous line spacing.
Use Tailwind with shadcn/ui components. Add empty, loading and error states, and make every tap target at least 44px.
Build the main screen first with these exact specs and show it to me. After my OK, connect it to Codata IO.Step 03
Add one feature at a time
Follow-up · teacher insights
Add a teacher view showing which cards students get wrong most often, sorted worst first.
Follow-up · AI decks
Let me paste in a page of my notes and use Codata IO AI to generate a new deck from it, saved to Codata IO.
Step 04
Go live
Launch prompt
Check that students can't edit decks or see each other's scores, and that no keys are in the code. Remove the sample deck if I ask, then deploy on Codata IO hosting and give me one link to share with my class.
Pro tip
No per-user pricing: adding the whole class, or the whole school, doesn't push you onto a pricier plan. You pay for usage, not seats.
